Rick’s Favorite Brownies

Warning! You are about to abandon all diets. These are the best unfrosted brownies. If you decide to omit the walnuts, still add the last 2 tablespoons flour. You can use any chocolate chips or flour you desire. I highly recommend King Arthur flour in this recipe as it produces a superior result.

    1 cup unsalted butter
    1 (12-ounce) package Ghirardelli
® semisweet chocolate chips
    3 large eggs
    1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    ½ cup King Arthur
® all-purpose flour
    1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
    2 tablespoons King Arthur
® all-purpose flour

1.  Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray a 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass
     baking dish with nonstick spray.

2.  Melt butter in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips.

3.  In a large bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
Stir in chocolate. Sift in ½ cup flour with baking powder
and salt. Toss walnuts with 2 tablespoons flour. Gently fold
into batter. Pour into pan and bake 35 minutes.
