Cauliflower
with
Cheese Sauce
In
Holland, the Dutch use gouda cheese. In Poland, a crunchy crumb mixture tops the
cheese sauce.
Cauliflower
1 small cauliflower
Water
Cheese Sauce
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
Salt
Ground white pepper
˝ cup shredded
cheddar cheese
Polish Bread Crumb Topping
2 teaspoons butter, melted
4 teaspoons bread
crumbs
˝ teaspoon dried dill
weed
1.
Steam cauliflower until soft, then place in a 9-inch pie plate.
2. Melt butter in a sauté pan, add
flour. Whisk in milk, salt and
pepper. Whisk
until thick, then add cheese. Pour over
cauliflower.
3. Sprinkle with bread crumb
topping and broil for 5 minutes.
